    Anyone going to the meeting?

A TCEQ Public Meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., on Thursday, Sept. 19, in Mont Belvieu, Texas, and RPR officials are encouraging race fans, local merchants, business partners and others to attend to show support for the race track.

Seems there was a conflict of interest that wasn't made public until after all this got some media attention. Something about another concrete company being owned by the same people that own the track (Angel bros). I think but don't know for sure, because I was under the impression Royal Purple owned it. Maybe they are just a major sponsor. Anyway, what I understand is that this all was started to try and get the people next door to RPR to move and make it diificult or impossible for that co. to actually start up their business because they were going to undercut the existing concrete crushing business owned by the track owners. The track guys thought using the dust excuse to put them out of business would ensure their concrete business didn't have any competition. Then NHRA heard about the "dust" issue and got concerned, rightfully so. Now it has all backfired because of a false statement, about the dust, that was only meant to put the concrete co. out of business but since the NHRA heard about it, they have to folow up for safety reasons. Like I said, just what i heard, no proof any of this is true, but it makes sense and is plausible.

Thats pretty shady to come up with that kind of statement and take it that far.

pretty much what i figured. i didn't want to post speculation on it earlier but you can't blame them for trying if it was causing a legitimate concern and the by product was keeping the competition out.

    As always... follow the money.

And I stand to be corrected but when we first arrived in the US 4 1/2 years ago wasn't RPR known as something else? i.e. RP are just the major sponsor?
