    2006 GT Tranny Swap??

    I have an 06 GT with a supercharged aluminator motor with a conservative tune (450 at the tires) that im thinking of converting to a manual 5 or 6 speed (also has 4.10 gear). I know its a lot of work, but it is something I can do. Does anyone know of all the parts I will have to change? Im not sure if I need to replace the computer, or if this one can retuned for the standard transmission. Id really like to find a totaled car for a donor, but im not sure if I will be able to find/afford one. My automatic is built right with no expense spared, but the OD band is out and im not sure I want to spend the money on the automatic, I really wanted a manual when I found this car. Whats yalls thoughts. Thanks

    Ok, thanks. Any recomendations on a clutch and pressure plate? I just dont want something extremely hard to push, but will hold up to the power im putting to it (530hp at the flywheel).

    Here is what I think I need, does anyone see anything i dont need, or that i forgot?

    PCM
    Wire harness
    Pedal assembly
    Master cylinder
    Slave cylinder
    Line from master cylinder to slave cylinder
    Shifer and linkage

    These cars are hyd clutch so pedal feel isn't bad even with a big clutch.
    I would do a Exeedy Mach500 or 600

    I was hoping I could use the driveshaft that I already have, so thats some good news. Where is the best place to get the parts from?? I found the tranny, flywheel,shifter, and factory driveshaft for $400, but that still leaves me with several parts to round up. Im assuming that is a fair price. Anybody here have any of the parts I need??

    Get the slave cylinder and clutch line from tommy vaughn. The harness, pcm, crossmember, and pedal assembly either from a junk yard or s197forum. People sell them quite often.

    Thanks for all of the advice and information. I called and talked to the guys at Circle D that built this tranny originally and they assured me that it should give me long term service with little to no problems. It was built with all the heavy duty parts needed to hold up to what this motor is putting out, so they recommended that I have this one repaired. They are thinking the wear on the OD band is probably form previous repeated use at the track, but since I am only going to use it for a weekend street driver, I should get many years of good service out of it. I am going to have it repaired, but if it fails again, I will convert it. But thanks again for all of the helpful information.

    Wait for Beaumann to get their 6r80 controller done and swap in a 6r80 auto from a 2011-2014.
    The 5r55 even built can't handle what a stock 6r80 can
