    The Coffee and Cars Debate

Looking on Facebook, I saw a post made by Coffee and Cars (The one at The Vintage). They have posted the map of where each make/model is supposed to park. The comments have really exploded on that post! I don't know if this is a continued debate, or if this is just surfacing, but I have a question.
There is a lot of debate on what type of cars need to be parked in the "show" area, and which ones need to park with the spectators. Originally, I had planned on parking in the mustang show area with all the other mustangs. Now I don't know that I should. I have a 1990 LX 5.0, that will be a classic next year. It is completely stock. I don't want to ruffle any feathers, or be questioned as to why I'm parked in the " show" area. I, like everyone else, am proud of my car and want to show it off. That being said, it won't hurt my feelings if my car is not considered a "show" car.
I will park with the spectators, if that's where I need to be.

    Thoughts?

It's a car meet not a car show. Just get there early enough to get a spot and enjoy.

I dont mind whomever wants to bring their car, people put in hard work for their cars and want people to see that.

My issue is with people reserving spots with cones. If you dont get up early enough to get a spot in the area you want to park, then tough luck. There is no need to reserve 40 spots for people that "might" show up. I have been known to back over a cone or 2.

Right, that is tomorrow! I'll probably make it there about 8:00 since one of my boys really wants to see all the cars. I'll be parking in the spectator spaces for sure, but I'll be looking for your LX in the show area Chris!

I have thought of taking my 67 to this before. But seems like to get a spot I'd have to wake up before the roosters do or just park the night before and sleep in my car.

You do, especially if there's an exotic announced that you want to see. I was all jazzed up to see Michael Schumaker's Ferrari F1 car and a Saleen S7. I figured I wasn't the only one so my son and I got out there at 6am in order to get a decent place to park. I wasn't let down and think the turnout was one of the best yet. It's sad to see so many people on their facebook page become internet warriors with "you can't tell me where to park, I can do what I want, what are you going to do about it, etc". Drop the tough guy attitude, come out and enjoy it, or stay home and be a curmudgeon.

People should park where they want, but people also need to be realistic on what people want to see.

There's a certain etiquette to follow anytime you go to a public gathering. I wouldn't just move a cone and park with a bunch of Lambos. Mostly, everyone wants to be with their friends or group. That being said, if their whole group is there and that's the only spot left...that spot is mine!!
