After posing the question to one of my least-loathed car groups on FB, it seems that several people have successfully mounted their coils to the oil pan rails using some sort of bracket. I'll make a run at it and see where it takes me.

Side note - I'm about over facebook groups. They seem to be populated solely by people who need warning labels. I'm no genius, but geeeez.

Yeah, pretty much just a bunch of jerks in the FB groups. I should know, I am one of them.

So off oil pan rails and below headers? Seems like a strange place, but guess makes things hidden if that is the desire.

Yes, and the better benefit there is it's further from the heat of the headers. Hopefully tonight I have time to get into the garage and see if it's viable.

Exactly what I was thinking.. .. unless your never going to drive it on a rainy day.. coil itself is sealed but plug not so no much..

I ended up stopping by the metal supermarket Friday and bought some 2x5x.125 aluminum angle. This is what I came up with, and as you can see, they're about 3 1/2" inches below the exhaust ports, right on top of the starter, pretty much. I'm going to give this a go, but I have enough material left to make a heat shield for the top as well. If it works, cool, if not, then on to plan B or C.

Here's how far down they are:

The angle of the photo doesn't give any reference to the distance at all, but I really think they'll be fine.

I also got the hood installed the paint matches really well:

I also stripped and cleared my A/C compressor. It came out really well.

Im all out of parts to install now. Hopefully the stuff to mod my MS comes in this week so I can finish wiring everything up.

    Man Iím behind on updates!

Got some parts back from Coatings by Coates:

^^^ my downpipe looks like a large mammalian penis now. I really want to hire someone to redo it, but not in the cards right now

Also, I rewired my engine harness and connected the cam and crank sensors. For those, I cut off the factory MAP sensor plug and robbed the power and ground. I combined those with the TFI harness which Iím using two wires out of for signal returns to the ECM. Looks much cleaner now. (Below)

My low coil mounts ended up not fitting with the headers so that was a wasted day. Oh well, working on plan B and C right now.

Baby is scheduled to be induced on Sunday, so Iíll work as long as I can this week, but may not have much as far as updates for a bit.
