Well, the tune brings up another issue I have. It was tuned remotely by AED. It backfires BAD. I dont mean the usual pop-pop-pop. I mean like Uncle Buck style, sans whistle. The AFR reads rich but the tuner told me that the AFR gauge will read rich, which makes no sense. I kinda want to have someone look at it, but don't have the cash at the moment.

The combination of these things happening don't sound good to me. I would be gently on the car until I got a new tune. JMO.

I don't think it is a serious issue. If it were going LEAN I'd be very concerned. AFR is usually in the 13.8 range at cruise and 11.9 in decel. The going dead thing is operator error, I just need to figure out how to get around it.

    Lund sux, Just sayin!!

From the many reviews I have read when I was looking for a tune, it's mixed on who's the best.. Lund is well known, but customer service sux... I waited over 2 weeks for a response just to get nowhere.. Sean over at AED answered all of my emails within a few hours even though I haven't bought a tune yet..

I'd at least shoot Sean a email or give him a call see if you can get some data logs and send to him..

Yeah I read some threads in various places and got a 50/50 mix between Lund and AED. So who knows, Sean has answered all of my questions, and promptly. That's all I can honestly say about my dealings with AED.

    Hmmmm...

"Large backfires like that are not normal, there is likely something going on with the car mechanically or electronically, itís not a tune issue.

So my car, which has 8,000 miles.... and has only a CAI, mufflers, and a TUNE - has something wrong with it.

I would hope not... I am guessing that if you put it back to stock air box and tune that it would drive just fine... Who's CAI is on your car, JLT, Airraid, Steeda or some other?
