It's easy to do really. Buy a vehicle for say 40. Keep it 3.5 years. Say payoff is 20k. Trade value is 27k. That's 7k to roll into the next loan. Say I buy a new vehicle of similar trim. 40k with 7k equity rolled in makes the new vehicle. So new vehicle is 33k. Keep 3.5 years. Rinse and repeat.

You are forced by the time-space continuum to be young.
It's a choice to be young and stupid.
Paid 29. Let's round to 30 for easier math.
    Owned 3.5 years.
Let's guess you had 4% interest.
In 3.5 years you paid about 4200 in interest. I'll round down to 4k.
    You owed 14.
29-14 means you paid 15k in principal. Plus 4 in interest. 19k

You "made" 7500 off your trade in over what you owed.

    11,500.

    11,500 dollars....

For 3.5 years of fun in car.
    That's over 3 grand per year....GONE.

    Was it worth it?

This post was designated as a heads up to some of those curious. Had no intentions of it turning into a bash post.

Just to add to the info above

$3k-4K being paid every year in payments, plus the "stuff" you modify. You lose all that on a trade-in anyways.
When the car sales business gets rough and let's you go, you will most likely lose your vehicle as well since you already stated not having anything in the bank.

The idea was to get started. Make my way up to a vehicle I could settle into and keep it for a while. Pay off early and be happy for a couple years. But being me, I like to have cool new toys. So to answer your question, yes it was worth it because I enjoyed learning how to work on it and getting in groups such as these.
