    Replacing the mustang

I know. Just after I converted it to a V8, but I've been wanting one of these for a couple of years and finally found one when I had the money. I've agreed with the seller to let him keep motor, trans, and front brakes(as if they're worth anything). Hopefully the mustang will be sold tomorrow.

    1979 Ford Fairmont
    302/C4
    61,000 original miles
    Air Conditioning (works!)
    Heater
some rust under vinyl top at windshield
    needs carpet
    Aluminum front and rear bumpers
Dents on driver front door and fender
    100% solid

    Plans?

5.0L explorer motor (picking up tomorrow)
Convert to 5-lug with Mark 7 fronts and ranger axles/drums out back
    AOD
    Dual 2.5" exhaust
Find a good factory cassette player radio
Not sure of wheel selection yet

It needs some TLC, but I'll get to all that later. Just needed something a little bigger and off police radar. LOL!

Those look pretty good once they are lowered and have some nice wheels. Any plans to repaint it?

The paint on it is pretty decent for its age. It should shine after a buff. If it does get painted, I'll stick with the same color.

A Futura would be OK, a coupe would be good, but grandma's grocery getter, I don't know. Next thing you will be buying a woody station wagon or something REALLY strange.

I would still like a nice 85 LTD LX that I could fix up. And another Futura. Good luck on it Jason!
    87 LX 5.0 - bought new 3/31/87 - 306,000+ mile former daily driver with a blown engine. :(
Hoping to have it back on the road by it's 25th "birthday", 3/31/2012!
Ask me about Fox 5 lug info.

Wow, cannot say that I'd swap a Mustang for it, but it's definitely an interesting and rarely-seen car nowadays. I didn't even know they put 302's in them. Interior is clean.

They are a foxbody. Not 100% mustang, but most of the mustangs bits will bolt in.
