    1966 Mustang

My wife and i just bought this 1966 Mustang from a guy in Alvin. As you can see its kinda rough. he does have the front and rear windsheilds just not on the car. It is mostly compleat (missing the passengers side glass) It has not run since 1983 but ran when it was parked. Paid $1400 with a title.

I just wanted to know what everyone thought

More pictures. Solid floors and trunk. Lable on valve cover says 302 so may not be original engine. How should I try to bring this engine back to life? Carb needs work I know that cuz the throttle does not move.

Stock mostly. My wife wants it blue exterior and white interior. I just need to get it running now since it has been sitting since 1983. once i get it running i will move on to the transmission, once it is driving ill do the interior. then tires, gas tank and brakes,

I also want some feedback on the purchase it self. I paid $1400 the car is probaly 90% compleat, it has solid floors and trunk. just minor sufface rust and only small rust holes above the rear window. A lable on the valve cover says the engine is a 302. Did I get a good deal?

    Thanks, Jason

you wont really know if the price was good or not until you find out how much body work its gonna take to get looking good. i speak only from my own very limited experience, as my dad and i are in the process of working rebuilding a 65 that we bought from a guy on here august of last year. but at $1400 it would probably need a WHOLE lot of work to not have been a good deal it would seem.

You might have the cart before the horse. IMO, the engine and everything else should come out so you can address the body before touching anything else.
