1988 Ranger with Mustang v8 engine, trans and brakes.

1988 Ranger with Mustang v8 engine, trans and brakes.
This is a project that was picked up several years ago and has been in a state of flux and or PARKED.
Right now it is a 1991 F150 engine and EFI setup. Mustang EFI Intake and transmission setup (AOD) getting swapped to T5 and 8.8 with 3.73 gears and 94-04 Cobra brakes at all 4 corners.

Should be a lot of fun once I convert the EFI to SEFI.

Then again this will be a parts hauler and just all around fun truck. Not a racer but just something fun.

    Here are some pictures.

hood scoop and wheels are gone. Bullitts and no scoop.

There will be some rear suspension mods coming with an updated front suspension as well. Rear will come way before the front though.

Possibly going to have this up and running again before the year is out. We shall see though. I hope it happens as intended. Only been a few years sitting and no driving.

Has a new set of wheels, tire and an 8.8 that needs gears, t-lock rebuilt and installed. Then the real mods will come once it is running. I have 2" drop springs and shackles for the back but the rear might just have the shackle hangers flipped for what needs to happen now. Then a 4 link of sorts and a wats link. The front suspension will be the most difficult. Might have to eventually send it out to have a dual A-arm conversion done to it.

Well this has been a while since it was updated. I have now updated the braking to 1995 twin piston Ranger brakes and have reinstalled drums as the rear disc brake conversion was never completed. The intake has been swapped out for an Explorer 5.0 setup. Engine has the Explorer intake, 65mm throttle body, 1.6 roller rockers and complete headers and 2.5" exhaust.

I should have this running SOON. Also swapping the springs and 8.8 into the truck as well this coming weekend. Should be ready to drive again after that is done.

Should be a fun truck for someone to own.

Yeah I have all the swap parts for the brakes but just no calipers and rotors now. Had sold those off a while back. It is stopping via 1995 twin piston front brakes now. I hope to have the system bled out and ready to drive on sometime in the evening this week. I am itching to have this thing back on the road!
